Malpractice in the Church

If the church is the hospital then the Pastors are the doctors.

They are charged with informing their patients of what is making them sick and urge them to stop. 

They are charged with identifying problems and correcting them. 

They are to treat their patients disease aggressively.

At least that is what I expect of my Doctor...

Malpractice is defined as wrong doing, negligence, carelessness,  incompetence, or a failure to act properly.Doctors are sued all over the US for malpractice. They are accused of wrongful deaths in cases that should have been avoided. When someone dies and it could have been prevented this is negligent.

Negligence is defined as failure to take proper care in doing something. Some car accidents are due to negligence. It is failure to use reasonable care, resulting in damage or injury to another. Parents can be negligent, sometimes ending in the death of a child.

I want to take a moment to share something God has been showing me.  He is showing me how we, Christians, are committing malpractice and being negligent in our walk with Him. Doctors are to warn patients when the patient is doing something bad for their health or that can cause an early death. Parents are to make sure their children are staying out of harms way because most of the time they do not know or understand what they are doing, nor do they understand that it can hurt them or even kill them. Doctors warn patients that are obese, that they have high blood pressure or they may become diabetic or  even die from High blood pressure or heart disease due to their weight. They warn them of the consequences of smoking or using drugs incorrectly. The doctor warns the patient he/she may die if they do not change their ways. They do not stay quit in the name of loving their patients! Although it may upset the patient, they warn them, that shows how much they care.

Parents see their kids hanging with the wrong crowd, they warn them! They do not stay quit in the name of love. They take every opportunity to exhort their children and correct them when they see them going astray. We do not stay quit in the name of love in anything in this world. We warn exhort and encourage people to do what is right in every situation. In every healthy-loving relationship you see this at work. 

However, Pastors and preachers are staying quit all in the name of love. They are using love to stay where they are comfortable, avoiding confrontation, and using love as an excuse not to preach the truth. They do not want to be hated, looked down on or judged. They want acceptance, they do not want to be rejected. They use love as a cloak not to warn their congregations of the dangers in their life. I do believe they care but they have no real revelation of the dangers ahead. The reaping and sewing principle is in everything.

Pastors and preachers need to stop being man pleasers and care enough to warn the people. They are committing malpractice and they are being negligent all in the name of love. I will do whatever it takes for my kids to know the truth, even if it means that they hate me, disown me, or forsake me. When we love someone and see them in a burning house we do not just stand there and pray. We pound at the door, we break windows to get in, and we go to extreme measures to wake the person up so they can get out of the burning house.

             16-17 For instance, if we see a Christian believer sinning (clearly I’m not talking about those
             who make a practice of sin in a way that is “fatal,” leading to eternal death), we ask for God’s
             help and he gladly gives it, gives life to the sinner whose sin is not fatal. There is such a thing
             as a fatal sin, and I’m not urging you to pray about that. Everything we do wrong is sin, but
             not all sin is fatal.

When you wake someone out of their sleep and slumber, more times than not, they get mad and grouchy, it is no different when someone is spiritually sleeping.

They say we are in the New testament, new covenant…grace abounds. Yes it does.

Romans 6:1-2 [Dead to Sin, Alive to God] What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

James 1:21 [Doers—Not Hearers Only] Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.

2 Peter 1:12 [Peter’s Approaching Death] For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth.

The last thing I want to say is that Peter had a rooster to get his attention when he denied Christ. We do not have that, we need to be mindful of this. Although we have the Holy Spirit, we were given pastors or spiritual fathers to help keep the sheep (us) on the right path, out of harm’s way.

Staying silent in the name of love is in fact the opposite of love.

Proverbs 13:24 He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.

If Pastors do not take this seriously, there are going to be many premature spiritual deaths in the church. There are going to be many people unaware to the consequences of their sin, and there are going to be many people that do not make heaven their home because they were told everything was ok.  The people are being given the promises without direction to obtain them. Some promises are unconditional but there are many that are conditional and the conditions are not being taught.  

They teach all the wonderful promises of God without any instruction on how to obtain the promises. Clouds without water, which promise rain in time of drought, but the people they are teaching rarely experience the promise, or they only experience part of the promise. They promise much, but in conclusion bring forth little or no fruit.the churches are full of unrepentant sinners... They are all about numbers rather than the true conversion and quality disciples...

A seat belt is worn to protect you, without it you are unrestrained and in an accident you can be seriously hurt or killed. The same goes for God’s commands. They restrain you, they keep you on the right path, and they protect you. Everytime God set His people free....He gave them commandments. The children of Isreal were given the commands after they were delivered out of Egypy. 

Without the seat belt (commands) you can not only hurt yourself but anything or anybody you may come in contact with in an accident. Although, they may have had a seat belt on…you can very well crush them if you do not wear it yours. Your sin works the same way. It affects everyone around you. Sin is like a disease, just like obesity causes heart disease and diabetes; sin separates you from God and causes death.  God calls us to repent (turn from our sin, change direction, change our mind) and accept His sacrifice and payment of our sin. Not so we can continue in our sin. It is true that we all have sin, but we can deny our sins and not continue in them willfully.

God gave commands because He loves us. The commands are for us- not Him. Just like when I tell my child not to do something, it is not for my benefit, it is for theirs. I know better than my children and I warn them because I LOVE them. God knows better than us, we need to teach the whole counsel of God without restriction. God knows what He is doing. His word is perfect. It is perfectly balanced between promises and consequences. Who are we to pick the parts we want to teach and leave out the offensive stuff. We either believe the bible or not. It is a package deal, all or nothing.
